Dedicated To The Memory Of Reverdy Lewin Orrell, Jr. (1920 - 2006) |
If you're tired of listening to ministers and priests that preach a 'feel good' sermon and would rather listen to someone who has no problem teaching the true word of God, Father John Corapi should be high on your list.
This guy doesn't play around or mince any words. I like that. In fact, if I didn't know better, I'd say he could easily pass for a bible-thumping, Souther Baptist minister.
He has a deep booming voice and lays it right on the line. I appreciate that. I'm not into sugar coating when it comes to the bible.
He was ordained by Pope John Paul II. He is member of the Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity (SOLT). His theological perspectives are orthodox, placing a central emphasis on fidelity to Catholic doctrine as taught by the magisterium of the Church.
Here are some of his quotes:
"In the end, forever, you and I will be in Heaven or Hell. Period."
"I'm not going to hell for anybody!"
"You know why the world is a stinking mess? I have failed to be as holy as I am called to be. Bottom line. I don't have any control over anybody else. I've gotta deal with ME. One person at a time we must be perfected as our Heavenly Father is perfect."

Dear Father Corapi: I really enjoy watching and listening to you. You've helped me in a great many ways.
I hope you are well and in good spirits. May, I ask why, you aren't traveling as much these days? I keep you in my prayers and hope you'll soon be able to travel again.
Thank you sir for all you do! May God bless and keep you safe.
Sincerely yours,
Mary E. Frazier
When one has a SERIOUS problem, and needs to TALK to Fr. Corapi, how can one do it? I feel only Fr. Corapi can help.
Posted by: Duke at March 4, 2008 2:01 PMFATHER I AM COMING BACK TO THE CHURCH. AFTER MANY YEARS OF LIVING IN SIN. MY HEART WANTS SO BAD TO KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH HELPING MYSELF GIVE BACK TO ANYONE WHO LIKE ME HAS HAD A CRAZY, HARD, DRUGED-UP WORLD. I JUST HAPPEN TO SEE YOU WHILE CHANGING THE T.V. AROUND. MAN WAS I IMPRESSED TO SEE THAT YOU YOURSELF WENT THROUHG SOME OF THE CRAZYNEST THAT I HAVE BEEN THROUGH. AS A CATHOLIC IT JUST SEEMED LIKE PEOPLE LIKE ME LEFT THE CATHOLIC CHURCH IN ORDER TO BE AROUND OTHER PEOPLE WHO HAD BEEN THROUGH THE SAME AS I HAVE. BUT THEY CHANGE THEIR RELIGION. I ON THE OTHER HAND LOVE BEENING CATHOLIC AND WILL NEVER LEAVE THE CATHOLIC FAITH. WHAT I AM SAYING IS, AS I SIT UP FRONT IN CHURCH AND I KNOW A LOT OF PEOPLE KNOWN MY PASS I SOMETIMES WILL FILL VERY UNEASY. SO THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FOR BEING YOU. FROM NOW ON WHEN I AM PRAYING AND GIVING MY WHOLE HEART AND SOAL TO THE LORD.DURING MASS, I WILL FILL OKAY BEING THERE. BECAUSE I AM NOT ALONE. IN MY SINFULL PAST WAYS.TAKE CARE, GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.

Posted by: Sandra O'Flynn at March 26, 2008 1:53 PMMy son has introduced me to your videos and I find them moving. The only persistent life-long problem I have is the problem of pain and suffering if there is an omniscient and all loving God. Prehistoric creatures suffered and died as well as man. Saying God permits suffering to draw out a greater good seems to me to be circular reasoning. Why have pain and suffering at all. If God knew beforehand that his children were going to suffer (and I include animals from all eons) then why would he create that kind of world. It hurts that I can't get past this question. An omniscient and all-loving God on one hand, and this world on the other, seem to me to be mutually exclusive. Can anyone ever help me. Please help me to understand.
Posted by: Deirdre McHugh at March 28, 2008 8:28 PMIn the last few months I,ve heard several of your talks and they made my lent extra special from beginning to end. That encludes my sacarament of reconcilation. I would enjoy getting an audio of your talks but am having troulbe finding a listing. Could someone fax me that info? Thank you for everything.
Posted by: Jane Thompson at April 5, 2008 10:52 AMDEAR FATHER,
I GOT MARRIED OUTSIDE OF CHURCH TEACHINGS.
MY WIFE WAS BAPTISED IN A CATHOLIC CHURCH AS SO WAS I. HOWEVER WHEN I MARRIED HER SHE WAS A PROTESTANT, WE WERE MARRIED IN A BAPTIST CHURCH. DURING THE YEAR THAT FOLLOWED I WENT TO CONFESSION. I ASKED PRIEST WHAT TO DO, TO MAKE THINGS "RIGHT". I WAS TOLD I COULD BRING IN MY BAPTISMAL RECORD AND MY WIFES AND OUR MARRAGE CERTICATE. WELL MY WIFE CANT OBTAIN HER BAPTISMAL RECORD IN BRAZIL, AND SHE WILL NOT GO TO RE-TAKE OUR VOWS AGAIN IN A CATHOLIC CHURCH. WHAT ELSE CAN I DO TO MAKE IT "RIGHT"? ITS OUR FIRST MARRAGE AND WE DO NOT HAVE CHILDREN.
The Church Twice Defiant.
Fr.Corapi,
I know how faithful you are to the magisterium and it is a breath of fresh air in these times of liberalism etc, I love the church too but I have to point out that things have gone very wrong since Vatican II and the reason is plain enough, the Popes and Bishops have twice defied Heaven by not consecrating Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary that`s number one, number two,by failing to condemn Communism and instead trying to seek some sort of amiable treaty (Infamous Pact of Metz) things have gone down the tube and we see this in a startling rise of indifference and compromise that has infected the church, both Clergy and Laity alike.
There was a time when the words of Our Lady made little sense as to Russia spreading errors throughout the world, not anymore as these errors are now very plain to see.
What are your thoughts on this?
Yours in Jesus & Mary.
HEY FATHER CORAPI, I RECENTLY DICOVERED YOU ON TV. I WAS CHANGING CHANNEL,AND THERE YOU WERE.YOU SAID I FEAR NO ONE ,I WOULD SPIT RIGHT IN YOUR EYE. GOD IS A WARRIOR,FOR WHAT IS RIGHT. HE IS KIND, COMPASSION GENTLE ALSO. I HAVE BEEN VERY SICK THIS YEAR,BUT HAVE LEARNED MUCH FROM IT.I WAS PRAYING ONE NIGHT ,AND SAW JESUS,HE SHOWED ME HIS HANDS WHERE THE NAIL WAS PUT THRU. I FEEL LIKE HE WAS SAYING TO ME,I SUFFERED FOR YOU NOW YOU LEARN. I AM A WORK IN PROGRESS. I DO NOT BELONG TO ANY CHURCH. MY FATHER IS A BAPTISM.I AM LEARNING SO MUCH FROM A LOT OF DIFFERENT PREACHERS, OF ALL FAITHS.i DON'T CARE WHAT COLOR A PERSON IS or WHAT SEX . I AM HUMBLE. I PRAY FOR YOUR HEALTH FATHER. I CAN SO SEE YOU PLAYING AND ENJOYING YOUR DOGS. MAY GOD BLESS. A WORK IN PROGRESS SHERRY
Posted by: Sherry Butcher at June 15, 2008 3:15 PMFather,
Raised by Southern Baptist missionaries, I have been trapped into my parents' religion. Having seen your tv sermons, I am so drawn to your openness and positive spirit.
I want so much to hear/see more of your deliveries. My husband, who professes, but has not developed Christian values, would benefit--like me--to become a better "follower."
Please tell us how to meet you and hear you in person. My husband loses attention when listening to a cd. He is a professional musician who only delves into music.
I believe that God has sent you to US.
Sincerely,

Posted by: rosa lake at July 15, 2008 12:51 PMFather, why isn't the Catholic Church coming out stronger against politicians who support abortion. Our Catholic newspaper "the Texas Catholic Herald" has had articles in it that gives the idea that it is okay to vote for a candidate that supports a pro choice option. I enjoy your program on EWTN and I hope more priests will follow your word.
Posted by: Louis Cascarelli at August 15, 2008 11:57 AMDear Father Corapi
God Bless you, Father Corapi. I hope that you did not quit traveling due to bad health. So many people love you so very much. May God give you the strength to return to traveling, or at the very least do more new series for EWTN.
I have had a long hard, but very rewarding life. God is so very good, even though we are frail.
You are a very real light in a dark world. May America wake up before it is too late.
I always said-I wish we could show Christ just how much it meant for Him to die on the Cross that He will be a little proud of mankind before He returns. We have so very much to rectify and accomplish-Though we can never pay Christ back for what He did on that Cross two thousand years ago to buy our redemption-I would hate the age of grace to come to an end at this point in time. We stand disgraced. May God give us strength to act on our faith, and meet the challenges of God.
God Bless you, Father Corapi.

Posted by: MATHIAS WARIBUGO at December 10, 2008 3:28 AMI think you teach false things. You put fear in people about God. I love God, but I believe most of morality is left for interpretation. No one man can comprehend God. If you say people were guided by the Holy Spirit to bring about the current beliefs of the church, couldnt it be true that im guided by the Holy Spirit to disagree. I watched your Weekly Wisdom series in my theology class. I cringed at pretty much everything said. It's unbelievable how people think God is summed up in the Catechism. God wants us to love. God will not send me to Hell for not going to Church. I do believe it is good to go but God is loving. Having questions and thinking the Church is wrong is not a sin. It is not the "arrogance of the devil" as you have said before. It is common questions that come to every Catholics mind. I go to Father Judge High School in Philadelphia, PA. The teacher i have this year thinks just like you. I cannot stand that class. I usually enjoy Theology but not when im being taught the wrong thing. My teacher last year, "Rev" as we called him, was the best theology teacher i have ever had. He taught us that Jesus loves us good, bad or indifferent. I see how so many people follow you, and with all due respect, i dont see it. You have to realize your teachings the wrong thing. You have good intentions but are missing the main point. This point is so simple and has been made to be so complicated. Bottom line Jesus Loves Us.
Posted by: John Doe at December 18, 2008 10:24 PMDear fr. Corapi.

Posted by: he at February 23, 2009 1:28 PMDear Fr. Corapi: I wish there were more priests who were unafraid to speak the Truth. I have heard you were suffering with sleep apnea. I had this illness too...it's a drag. I no longer suffer with it because I lost some weight and I don't have to use the C-Pap machine at all anymore. Praise God! I pray that you are able to start traveling again real soon! Ron in Dundas Ontario Canada
Posted by: Ron at March 23, 2009 12:54 PMA friend brought you into my life. Been a non active Catholic most of my life. You brought me back to all Catholicism teaches & I still believe. Will you be back on EWTN preaching? I really need to hear your preaching badly. Am in my 70s & have no idea how to return.I still pray, & am watching EWTN as much as I can. Right now I believe only you(& God) can help me. I feel destitute, spiritually. God bless you with good health now & forever. You are included in my prayers. Thank you.
Posted by: Patricia at April 7, 2009 1:19 PMFather, I've been watching your tv programs since they first appeared. They are so powerful, they're worth watching again & again & again! A movie of your powerful witnessing would garner tremendous sales for the church. Guess I am what you call a cradle Catholic. Wish that you had been around in the late 40's teaching me catechism! I'd have really and truly understood everything, what it was, what it meant, and how to put it into practice. I hope you came through your thyroid surgery successfully. Several of my family members have a thyroid condition, so I'm well aware. God Bless because you have been God-sent to a crumbling world. You are remembered in my daily prayers!!!God Bless You Always!!
