Frederick K. C. Price

Note: This was originally posted on my personal blog in December, 2005.

FrederickPrice.jpgA product of the Los Angeles public school system, Price attended McKinley Elementary School in Santa Monica, Foshay Junior High, Manual Arts and Dorsey High Schools in Los Angeles, and received his AA Degree from Los Angeles City College.

Dr. Price received an honorary diploma from the Rhema Bible Training Center in 1976 and an honorary Doctorate of Divinity Degree from Oral Roberts University in 1982; both institutions are based in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

On September 6, 2000 , Dr. Price was the first Black pastor to speak at "Town Hall Los Angeles ". In 1998, he received the prestigious "The Horatio Alger Award", presented by an Alexandria, Virginia-based association honoring those who exemplify inspirational success. Dr. Price also received that year, "The Kelly Miller Smith Interfaith Award", presented by the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, honoring clergy who have made the most significant contribution through religious expression affecting the nation and world.

A close look at his educational biography shows that he has received honorary degrees, but no actual religious degree from bible institutions.

However, I find him to be an excellent teacher of the word.

There's only one thing that I dislike about Dr. Price. I find he is very materialistic and often mentions his possessions.

Apostle/Dr. Price:

Cogratulations on oyour Apostleship. I have followed you for years, since the late 70's early 80's era. My cousin called my sister and told her there was a preacher on TV that looked like my brother-in-law, and we've been watching you ever since. I have even been to see you when you came to Chicago at the Chicago U of I Circle Campus, where I received the in-filling of the Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues. I love the example you have set as a husband, father and Pastor. I've watched your children grow up in a Christian way on TV, and now to see young Pastor Fredrick step up and follow the call of God, is a blessing. I also see Angela stepping into a new calling. I see all your family, I don't see Stephanie though, has her marriage moved her away? It's always a pleasure to see your family in attendance and watch them as they watch you or Pastor Fredrick as you minister.

My sister's husband passed away five years ago this past April, but I still see him in you. He was only a few years younger than you, and he also loved watching you on TV. In fact, your ministry played a part in his returning to the Church. Thank you for your ministry, thank you for keeping it real, and telling the whole truth and nothing but the truth. I pray for your continued good health and growth of your minisitry as you continue to minister to God's people (saved and unsaved alike), as you go into all the world and preach the gospel and fulfill the purpose of God in your life.

God bless and keep you is my prayer for you and your family as well,

Minister VeRita D. Quinn
